This includes anyone over 65 years of age or anyone with one or more of the following:- Diabetes, COPD, steroid-treated asthma, heart failure, angina, previous heart attack, previous stroke/TIA, BMI over 40, kidney disease, liver disease, Parkinson’s, MND, MS, learning disabilities, cerebral palsy, splenectomy, HIV, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, immunotherapy, prednisolone >20mg per day, or methotrexate >5mg per week

    This is a non-NHS service for your pharmacist to examine your ear(s) and diagnose the cause of your discomfort. Appropriate medication can be then purchased, including prescription-strength antibiotics for ear canal infection and wax-softening drops for blockages. Note, that middle ear infection will need referring to your GP for treatment.
